Getting Started & Your First Visit

Everything you need to know before your first appointment at Nika Skincare.

You can book online through our website's booking page, or call us at (949) 491-3022. For first-time clients, we recommend starting with a complimentary consultation so we can assess your skin or body goals and design the right plan before any treatment.

Yes — consultations at Nika Skincare are always complimentary and no-pressure. You'll meet with our licensed esthetician, discuss your goals, get an honest assessment, and receive a personalized treatment plan with exact pricing before you commit to anything.

Your first visit begins with a one-on-one consultation. We review your health history and skin or body concerns, examine the treatment area, explain your options honestly, and recommend a plan. If you're ready and it's appropriate, we can often begin treatment the same day.

Yes — new clients complete a brief intake form covering health history, medications, allergies, and skin concerns. You can fill it out through our online intake form before your visit to save time, or complete it when you arrive.

We're located at 67 Vantis Dr, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656 — centrally positioned in South Orange County, an easy drive from Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills, Lake Forest, Dana Point, and the surrounding communities. Free parking is available on-site.

We're open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and closed on Sunday. We recommend booking in advance, as popular time slots fill quickly.

We operate primarily by appointment to ensure every client gets dedicated, unhurried time. If you'd like to come in, call ahead at (949) 491-3022 — we'll do our best to accommodate same-day requests when availability allows.

For the best selection of times, book about 1–2 weeks ahead — especially for weekend and after-work slots, which are the most popular. For a series of treatments, we'll help you schedule your sessions at the ideal intervals.

Absolutely. We offer services designed specifically for men, including facials, body contouring, and hair removal. Men are a growing part of our clientele, and every treatment is tailored to your skin and goals.

A regular spa focuses on relaxation, while a med spa offers clinical, results-driven treatments using advanced, FDA-cleared technology under professional expertise. At Nika Skincare you get both — clinical results delivered in a calm, welcoming setting by a licensed esthetician with 25+ years of experience.

Safety, Candidacy & Side Effects

Who's a good candidate, what's safe, and what to know about side effects.

Yes. Every treatment we offer uses FDA-cleared technology and proven protocols, performed by a licensed esthetician with 25+ years of experience. We thoroughly review your health history first and customize each treatment to your skin type and needs to keep it safe and effective.

The best way to find out is a free consultation. Generally, good candidates are in good general health with realistic goals. During your consultation we assess your skin or body, review any medical considerations, and honestly tell you whether a treatment is right for you — or recommend a better option.

Many treatments — including microneedling, chemical peels, body contouring (VelaShape III, LPG), and RF skin tightening — are not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Some gentle facials may be appropriate. Always tell us if you're pregnant or nursing so we can recommend a safe alternative or postpone treatment.

Most of our treatments have minimal side effects. Depending on the treatment, you may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or slight sensitivity that resolves within hours to a few days. Body contouring and microdermabrasion typically have no downtime at all. We review the specific side effects of your treatment during your consultation.

Often, yes — we customize treatments for sensitive skin, adjusting intensity, products, and technique. A consultation and, when appropriate, a patch test help us tailor a plan that respects your skin's tolerance while still delivering results.

Yes. Our licensed esthetician has extensive experience across all skin types and Fitzpatrick tones. Some treatments (like certain peels) are customized in strength for darker skin tones to prevent pigmentation issues — another reason a professional, experienced provider matters.

Please tell us about any medications (especially retinoids, blood thinners, or Accutane), skin conditions, allergies, autoimmune conditions, recent cosmetic procedures, or a history of cold sores or keloid scarring. These can affect which treatments are safe and how we prepare your skin.

Certain conditions — active infections or breakouts in the area, some autoimmune disorders, recent Accutane use, or pregnancy — may mean a treatment isn't appropriate right now. We screen for all of this during your consultation and will always recommend the safest path, even if that means waiting.

For treatments where a reaction is possible (such as certain peels or tinting), we can perform a patch test beforehand, especially for sensitive or reactive skin. Your safety and comfort always come first.

Skill and safety. Results — and safety — depend heavily on the practitioner's training and experience. Our founder Lida is a licensed esthetician with 25+ years of nursing and skincare expertise, using FDA-cleared devices. Bargain providers with inadequate training risk poor results, burns, scarring, or infection.

Comfort & What Treatments Feel Like

Does it hurt? Here's honestly what to expect during each treatment.

Most clients find microneedling very tolerable. We apply a topical numbing cream beforehand, so you'll typically feel light pressure and vibration rather than pain. Sensitive areas like the forehead may feel slightly more, but the treatment is brief and comfort is our priority.

No — VelaShape III is one of the most comfortable body treatments available. Most clients describe it as a warm, relaxing deep-tissue massage. There's no pain and no downtime, and many find it genuinely enjoyable.

LPG Infinity feels like a firm, rhythmic massage with gentle suction. It's comfortable and relaxing — many clients look forward to it. There's no pain and you can return to your day immediately afterward.

You may feel a mild tingling or warm sensation during a chemical peel, which is normal and temporary. We customize the peel strength to your skin and comfort level. Deeper peels have more sensation than gentle refreshers, and we guide you through the entire process.

RF skin tightening is comfortable — it feels like a warm massage as the radiofrequency gently heats the deeper layers of skin. There's no pain, and most clients find it relaxing.

Not at all. Microdermabrasion feels like a light scratching or gentle vacuum sensation on the skin — completely painless with no numbing needed. Most clients find it relaxing and love the immediate glow afterward.

For treatments like microneedling, we apply a topical numbing cream beforehand to keep you comfortable. Most other treatments — facials, microdermabrasion, body contouring, RF — don't require numbing because they're already comfortable.

It varies by treatment: facials and microdermabrasion run about 45 minutes, microneedling 60–90 minutes, body contouring sessions 30–80 minutes, and RF skin tightening 45–60 minutes. We'll give you an exact time when you book so you can plan your day.

Absolutely — that's the idea. Our studio is designed to be calm and welcoming, and many treatments (facials, body contouring, RF) are genuinely relaxing. You're welcome to unwind, and we keep the experience unhurried and personal.

Downtime & Recovery

How much recovery each treatment needs and when you can resume normal life.

It depends on the treatment. Body contouring (VelaShape III, LPG), microdermabrasion, LED, and most facials have zero downtime — you return to normal activities immediately. Microneedling and chemical peels involve 1–3 days of redness or flaking. We'll tell you exactly what to expect based on your treatment.

For no-downtime treatments (body contouring, microdermabrasion, most facials), yes — right away. After microneedling or a chemical peel, you may prefer to schedule around a day or two of mild redness, though many clients return to work the next day with light makeup.

Expect redness similar to a mild sunburn for 1–2 days, sometimes with slight flaking as skin renews. Most clients look normal within 24–48 hours. You can usually apply mineral makeup after 24 hours. We provide detailed aftercare to speed recovery.

It depends on the peel depth. A light peel may cause mild flaking for 2–3 days; a medium peel can involve visible peeling for 5–7 days. We match the peel to your skin and schedule, and give you complete aftercare instructions.

Yes. VelaShape III and LPG Infinity require zero downtime — you can work out, return to work, or go about your day immediately after your session. That's one of the biggest advantages of non-invasive body contouring over surgical options.

After body contouring, microdermabrasion, and most facials — yes, immediately. After microneedling or a chemical peel, we recommend avoiding heavy sweating and workouts for 24–48 hours to protect healing skin. We'll give you specifics for your treatment.

After facials and microdermabrasion, you can wear makeup the same day (though the glow is lovely bare). After microneedling, wait about 24 hours and use clean, mineral makeup. After a peel, wait until any active flaking subsides.

For no-downtime treatments, no — you'll simply look refreshed. After microneedling or a peel, temporary redness or light flaking may be noticeable for a day or two, which is why some clients schedule these a few days before an event rather than the day of.

Before Your Treatment

How to prepare so you get the safest, best possible results.

General guidance: arrive with clean skin (no makeup for facial treatments), stay hydrated, and avoid sun exposure and tanning beforehand. Specific prep depends on the treatment — we send or explain tailored instructions when you book, and review everything at your visit.

Yes — for most advanced treatments (microneedling, peels, microdermabrasion), stop retinoids, strong exfoliants, and acids about 3–5 days beforehand to avoid over-sensitizing your skin. We give you an exact list at your consultation.

Avoid significant sun exposure and tanning for at least a week before advanced treatments. Sunburned or freshly tanned skin can't be treated safely and raises the risk of pigmentation issues. Daily SPF is always recommended in sunny Orange County.

For body contouring, no special prep is needed beyond clean, product-free skin. For waxing, hair should be about ¼ inch long (roughly two weeks of growth) — don't shave right before, as the wax needs enough hair to grip.

We recommend avoiding alcohol for 24 hours before treatments like microneedling or peels, as it can increase sensitivity and bruising. Staying well-hydrated with water helps your skin respond better to any treatment.

In the days before microneedling, avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids (3–5 days), sun exposure and tanning (1 week), blood thinners and alcohol (24 hours, only if medically safe to pause), and any waxing or laser in the area. Come with clean, healthy skin.

For advanced treatments, pause active ingredients like retinol, glycolic/salicylic acids, and benzoyl peroxide a few days prior. Gentle cleanser and moisturizer are fine. We'll give you a personalized 'stop list' based on your routine and treatment.

Wear comfortable clothing. For body contouring, loose-fitting clothes are ideal since you'll access the treatment area. For facials, nothing special is needed. We provide everything else, including a comfortable, private treatment space.

Aftercare & Maintaining Results

How to care for your skin and body after treatment to protect your results.

Keep skin clean and hydrated, avoid makeup for 24 hours, skip active ingredients (retinoids, acids) for about 5 days, avoid heavy sweating and sun for 48 hours, and wear SPF diligently. We provide a complete aftercare kit of instructions and product recommendations.

Let the skin peel naturally — never pick or pull flaking skin, as this can cause scarring. Keep skin moisturized, avoid sun and heat, skip actives until healed, and use SPF daily. Following aftercare closely is essential to a beautiful, even result.

Aftercare is easy: drink plenty of water to support your lymphatic system as it processes released fat and toxins, stay active, and eat well. There's no downtime or restriction — the healthy habits simply help maximize and maintain your results.

It varies by treatment — skin treatments build lasting collagen, while body contouring and cellulite results are maintained with periodic upkeep and a healthy lifestyle. We build a maintenance plan into your consultation so your investment keeps looking its best.

Yes — daily SPF is essential after almost every treatment and is the single best thing you can do to protect results and prevent premature aging. Freshly treated skin is especially vulnerable to UV, and in sunny Orange County, sun protection is non-negotiable.

Return to active ingredients (retinoids, acids, vitamin C) only after your skin has fully recovered — usually a few days for advanced treatments. In the meantime, stick to gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF. We tell you exactly when to reintroduce each product.

For advanced skin treatments, avoid sun, tanning, saunas, hot yoga, heavy sweating, swimming pools, and active skincare ingredients until healed. Never pick at peeling or healing skin. We provide a clear, treatment-specific 'avoid list' every time.

Timing depends on the treatment — microneedling is spaced 4–6 weeks apart, peels about 4 weeks, and body contouring often 1–2 times per week during a series. We schedule your sessions at the ideal intervals so your skin or body has time to respond and rebuild.

Results & Timelines

When you'll see results, how many sessions you need, and how long they last.

It depends on the treatment and your goals. As a guide: microneedling 3–6 sessions, chemical peels 3–6, VelaShape III 6–10, LPG Infinity 10–14, RF skin tightening 4–8. We give you an honest, personalized recommendation at your free consultation — never upselling.

Some treatments (microdermabrasion, facials, dermaplaning) give an immediate glow. Collagen-building treatments (microneedling, RF) reveal progressive results over 4–12 weeks as your skin rebuilds. Body contouring results build across your series. We set clear, realistic expectations up front.

Results vary: microdermabrasion and facials are maintained monthly; microneedling and peel results can last many months to a year with maintenance; body contouring and cellulite improvements are maintained with periodic sessions and healthy habits. We design a maintenance plan for lasting results.

Few aesthetic results are truly permanent because your skin and body keep aging naturally. However, collagen built through microneedling and RF is long-lasting, and body contouring results hold well with maintenance and a stable weight. We're always honest about what to realistically expect.

Yes — visit our Results page to see real transformations, and we're happy to show relevant examples during your consultation. Real, verifiable results (alongside 300+ five-star reviews) are the best proof of what we can achieve together.

VelaShape III is FDA-cleared to reduce cellulite and body circumference. Across a series, most clients see smoother skin texture, reduced dimpling, and a slimmer measurement in the treated area — with comfortable, no-downtime sessions.

Microneedling is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for acne scars. By inducing collagen, it progressively smooths rolling and boxcar scars over a series of 3–6 sessions. Deeper scars take more sessions; we set honest expectations based on your specific scarring.

For a glow-focused treatment like microdermabrasion or a facial, a single session delivers visible radiance. For structural change — scars, cellulite, laxity, wrinkles — a series is needed because these results build on themselves. We'll tell you honestly what one session can and can't do.

Yes — for collagen-based treatments like microneedling and RF skin tightening, results continue improving for weeks to months after your series as your body produces new collagen. This is why patience is rewarded with these treatments.

Pricing, Financing & Memberships

Transparent costs, payment options, packages, and how to save.

Yes — we offer flexible financing so you can start treatment without paying everything upfront. Many clients split a treatment series into manageable monthly payments. Ask about options during your complimentary consultation.

Yes — booking a series as a package lowers your effective per-session cost compared to paying single-session rates each visit. Since many treatments work best as a series, packages are both more economical and more effective.

Yes — our membership program is designed for clients who want consistent skincare and body maintenance at a better value, with perks and priority booking. Ask us about current membership benefits at your visit or on our membership page.

No — consultations are always free. You'll get an honest assessment, a personalized plan, and exact pricing at no cost and with no obligation to book.

We run seasonal specials and promotions throughout the year. Check our specials page or ask during your visit — and joining our email list or following us on Instagram is the best way to catch current offers.

Yes — gift cards make a wonderful present for birthdays, holidays, or self-care. Ask us about purchasing one; they can be applied toward any service.

Professional, FDA-cleared treatments deliver results that at-home products simply can't match — and doing them right, once, is more economical than repeated ineffective attempts. With a licensed 25-year expert, you're also paying for safety, customization, and honest guidance.

Body Contouring & Cellulite

Everything about VelaShape III, LPG Infinity, and non-invasive body treatments.

Non-invasive body contouring reshapes and refines your body without surgery, needles, or downtime. At Nika Skincare we use FDA-cleared VelaShape III and LPG Cellu M6 Infinity to reduce circumference, smooth cellulite, and firm skin — comfortably and safely.

VelaShape III combines infrared light, bipolar radiofrequency, vacuum, and mechanical massage to heat and target fat cells and connective tissue. This reduces the appearance of cellulite and shrinks body circumference while improving skin texture — all in comfortable, no-downtime sessions.

LPG Cellu M6 Infinity uses patented mechanical stimulation — a motorized roller-and-suction system — to naturally trigger fat release, boost circulation and lymphatic drainage, and stimulate collagen. It's backed by 145+ scientific studies and treats cellulite, contouring, and skin firmness at once.

No — body contouring reshapes and refines specific areas; it's not a weight-loss solution. It works best for clients near their goal weight who want to reduce stubborn pockets, smooth cellulite, and firm skin. We're always honest about what it can and can't do.

It significantly reduces the appearance of cellulite. LPG Infinity shows up to 93% visible cellulite improvement in studies, and VelaShape III is FDA-cleared for cellulite reduction. No treatment permanently erases cellulite, but a series delivers noticeably smoother skin, maintained with upkeep.

Common areas include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs, buttocks, hips, arms, and back. During your consultation we map the specific areas you want to address and build a plan around them.

CoolSculpting freezes and destroys fat cells but doesn't treat cellulite or tighten skin. Our VelaShape III and LPG Infinity reduce circumference AND smooth cellulite AND firm skin — comfortably, with no downtime and virtually no side effects. See our detailed comparisons for the full breakdown.

Most clients need a series for best results — typically 6–10 sessions for VelaShape III and 10–14 for LPG Infinity, often 1–2 times per week. You'll notice progressive improvement throughout, and we tailor the exact number to your goals.

Yes — it's a popular choice for restoring the body after pregnancy or significant weight loss, targeting stubborn abdominal fat, loose skin, and cellulite. LPG and VelaShape III firm and smooth without surgery. A consultation lets us set realistic, honest expectations for your situation.

Yes — VelaShape III and LPG Infinity are FDA-cleared, non-invasive, and have an excellent safety profile with virtually no side effects. Treatments are performed by our licensed esthetician and feel like a warm, relaxing massage.

Facials & Advanced Skin Treatments

Microneedling, peels, microdermabrasion, RF, LED, dermaplaning and facials explained.

Microneedling (collagen induction therapy) uses fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries that trigger your skin's natural healing and collagen production. It treats acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, uneven texture, and overall skin quality — one of our most requested treatments.

It depends on your concerns — hydration, acne, anti-aging, brightening, or sensitivity. Our facials are customized after a skin assessment. During your consultation, we analyze your skin and recommend the ideal facial or advanced treatment for your goals.

Microdermabrasion physically exfoliates the surface with diamond-tipped suction (instant glow, no downtime). Chemical peels use acid solutions to dissolve deeper damaged layers (more dramatic renewal, some flaking). We help you choose — or combine — based on your skin and downtime tolerance.

A chemical peel exfoliates damaged outer skin layers to reveal fresher, more even skin underneath. Peels improve tone, texture, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and acne. We customize strength from a gentle refresh to a deeper renewal based on your skin and goals.

RF (radiofrequency) skin tightening delivers controlled heat into the deep dermis to stimulate collagen remodeling, firming and lifting the skin. It's a non-surgical alternative to a facelift, ideal for mild to moderate laxity, jowls, and a softening jawline.

Dermaplaning gently removes dead skin cells and fine 'peach fuzz' facial hair with a sterile blade, leaving skin instantly smooth and luminous. It also allows better product absorption and smoother makeup application, with no downtime.

LED light therapy uses specific wavelengths to stimulate the skin: red light boosts collagen and reduces inflammation, while blue light kills acne-causing bacteria. It's a gentle, relaxing add-on that enhances results and accelerates healing after other treatments.

Yes — combining treatments (like microneedling with LED, or a peel with dermaplaning) often accelerates results. Our licensed esthetician designs safe, effective combinations and sequences based on your skin. We'll build the ideal plan at your consultation.

We specialize in a non-injectable, natural approach — building your own collagen and improving skin quality through treatments like microneedling, RF tightening, and peels. Many clients love achieving refreshed, natural results without needles or toxins.

For anti-aging, we often combine collagen-building treatments — microneedling and RF skin tightening to firm and smooth, plus peels for tone and texture. The ideal plan depends on your skin; we create a personalized anti-aging strategy at your consultation.

Lash, Brow & Hair Removal

Lash lifts, brow shaping and lamination, tinting, waxing, and sugaring.

A lash lift and tint semi-permanently curls and darkens your natural lashes for a wide-eyed, mascara-free look that lasts 6–8 weeks. It's low-maintenance, damage-free when done professionally, and perfect if you want effortless definition.

Brow lamination typically lasts 6–8 weeks. It restructures your brow hairs into a fuller, more uniform, brushed-up shape — great for thin, unruly, or uneven brows — without any tattooing or permanent commitment.

They're different: lamination reshapes your natural hairs (temporary, no needles, always looks natural), while microblading tattoos pigment for semi-permanent fullness. For most clients wanting fuller-looking brows without a permanent commitment, lamination is the lower-risk starting point. See our comparison for details.

Both remove hair from the root, but sugaring uses an all-natural paste that adheres only to hair (gentler on skin and often less painful), while waxing uses warm wax. Both are effective — we help you choose based on your skin sensitivity and preference.

Hair should be about ¼ inch long — roughly two weeks of growth — so the wax or sugar can grip it. Don't shave beforehand. If it's your first time, we'll guide you on timing for the smoothest, longest-lasting result.

There's a quick sensation as hair is removed, but our experienced technique minimizes discomfort, and it lessens with regular waxing as hair grows back finer. Sugaring tends to be gentler. We keep you comfortable throughout.

Waxing is typically every 3–4 weeks as hair regrows; lash lifts and brow lamination last 6–8 weeks; tinting about 4–6 weeks. We'll recommend a rhythm that keeps you consistently polished.
